Our team teacher, Ventura gave the team a little homework. She prepared sentence prompts for the group and gave the group a few days to write down our reflections.
Thank you, Ventura for compiling all the reflections.
TEAM REFLECTIONS
"God touched my heart when I heard the stories of the people we encountered." ~ Adult
"On our second to last night, I was deeply moved by witnessing the transformation of a pre-teen recently rescued during our 2019 trip. She has grown into a joyous, vibrant young lady, a testament to God's majestic and unmistakable power and grace." ~ Adult
"God touched my heart at the young mother's home and seeing all the kids in Malindi. He also touched my heart when I heard their stories." ~ Child
"God showed me how He looks after even the smallest details in our lives. Today in our church service it was a surprise to see that one of the scripture passages that the Pastor spoke on was Isaiah 6:8. This was the very verse that we selected to use in our logo which was proudly displayed on the t-shirts we were wearing. We had selected this verse months ago and yet the Lord knew that it would align perfectly with the theme for today's service. Indeed we serve a great God!!” ~ Adult
"God touched my heart when I saw the children and youth who were once abandoned and destitute singing praise to God." ~ Adult
"God has shown me how His kingdom grows when brothers and sisters are united in obedience to Him." ~ Adult
"God showed me His awesome works made possible through His faithful servants." ~ Adult
"God showed me what He can do in a person when they obey Him. God showed me His wonderful creation. God showed me how happy you can be even though you don't have much." ~ Child
"God works specifically in each of our lives. Even though all the children at MCF have been rescued from a desperate situation, God had orchestrated a unique circumstance for each child to cross paths with Charles Mulli. God is indeed a great and yet personal God. And when He works in those who are obedient, He works powerfully for His glory." ~ Adult
"God taught me to fully trust Him. Trust not partially but fully by letting go of my fears and worries. There's nothing that our mighty God can't do." ~ Adult
"God taught me to never take for granted the things we have. He taught me to be grateful for the many things He has blessed us with, especially since there are others in this world who have even less, like some of the people we have met." ~ Teen
"God showed me that MCF children are grateful, even though they don't have as much." ~ Teen
"Something I learned from God is to be grateful for the abundance of food, water, clothes, and shelter I have after seeing how many of the children living outside MCF are hungry, wear tattered clothing, and live in tiny homes, but are still happy and very friendly. For me, I can learn to be thankful for the luxuries I am given, and be reminded of how many children with much less are still grateful with what little they have when I feel like complaining." ~ Teen
"God showed me that people can be joyful even when they don't have a lot." ~ Teen
"Through seeing how little the children have in comparison to how much I have, God taught me to be grateful for everything I have and every opportunity I get." ~ Teen
"God taught me about the importance of prayer and how it has worked in many people's lives. Seeing the work of Mully's Children Family and the impact of their work on children and families has allowed me to see the importance of diligent and steadfast prayer." ~ Teen
"God has taught me that joy and hope can be found even when nothing seems hopeful. That we can always rely on God." ~ Teen
"God has taught me about joy. Spending time with the MCF kids and the community families reminded me that joy is simple. All we need is a roof over our head, food to eat, and to be loved from family and our heavenly Father. Unfortunately in Canada we have too many options which causes us to lose our focus and make poor decisions when looking for joy." ~ Adult
"I learned from God what a transformed life truly looks like ... it might start with a spiritual component (ie. accepting Jesus as your personal Saviour), but there is also a physical and emotional component. Each Mully child is given the opportunity and nurturing environment to succeed and become all that God desires for each and every one of us." ~ Adult
"I was able to observe how breaking the cycle of poverty needs to go beyond the giving of money to having a willingness to journey alongside a person to help them achieve emotional healing through unconditional love; human dignity through the systematic cultivation of talent and skills; and hope for a future through education and opportunity." ~ Adult
"God taught me that even if you don't feel like it, just giving each child a smile and wave will make your day and the child's day." ~ Teen
"God taught me to help others. Helping others makes God happy and I love God." ~ Teen
